Celebrate Inspirational Black Women
February 22nd, we are proud to announce that Virtuous ( a.k.a Kia Rice, native of this county), singer/songwriter of rap music and other musical genres will be our featured guest. She will show some of her musical videos on our large screen and sing several of her original songs. We have also invited the following community leaders who are inspirational black women as we celebrate Black History Month. Melissa Summers, President of Thelma Smith Foundation South Branch, will share her story of how this foundation started and their mission in our community. Then Shatoya Johnson, Student Support Specialist at Hanford-Dole, will share her passion for helping children in our community thrive and succeed. Lastly, Dileika Wilson, Co-owner of Timeless Wigs, will share her journey in the corporate world. Refreshments will be served afterwards. Please call the library or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org in order to confirm your attendance by February 14th as seating is limited.
