Volunteer Firefighter (Currently Recruiting)
The Spencer Fire Department is a fast paced, aggressive department located midway between Greensboro and Charlotte, just outside of the City of Salisbury. We operate out of a single fire station and operate two front line Engines, a front line 95' Platform, and a Squad used for medical calls. The department answers over 750 calls for service each year. Please review the requirements and complete a Town Application, attaching all supporting documents of certifications. When positions are available, please place your application and supporting documents in a large envelope with your name on the outside of the envelope and address them to the attention of Fire Chief Gray Grubb and Deputy Chief Jeremi Carter. All applications are to be delivered to the Fire Station.

Police Officer I (Currently Recruiting) Police Officer I - Job Description
The Spencer Police Department has an opening for a Police Officer I.  The successful candidate must have completed BLET and achieved a passing score on the State exam.  The application process involves a POST written examination, polygraph, drug screen, psychological examination, extensive background check and an oral review board.  Salary is dependent on education, training, and experience.  Spencer is home to the North Carolina Transportation Museum.  Applications are available online or at Town Hall.  Spencer is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Fire Captain (Currently Recruiting)
The position of Captain requires the employee to perform a myriad of different tasks. This role encompasses, the many responsibilities required on an emergency scene, as well as the daily tasks of managing a fire station, affiliated personnel, apparatus and equipment, including filling in as the apparatus driver when required. These responsibilities include but are not limited to fire, EMS and rescue incidents, facilities and equipment maintenance, pre-fire planning, community risk reduction activities, as well as other duties specified by the Fire Chief and/or Immediate Supervisor. This position will supervise 2 part-time employees and work a Monday – Friday schedule from 8AM to 4PM.
