Boards & Commissions

If you are interested in serving on one of the Town Boards appointed by the Board of Aldermen, please complete a BOARD APPLICATION and return it to the Town Clerk at Town Hall or it can be e-mailed to Townclerk@townofspencer.com

If you live in Spencer's ETJ and you are interested in serving as the ETJ representitive on the Planning Board, you can apply on the Rowan County website here. (In the board selection screen, scroll down to Town of Spencer - Planning & Zoning Board - ETJ.)

Currently, there are positions available on the Planning, Zoning, and Historic Preservation Boards. Citizens often find it an honor to serve on a Town Board in which they are appointed for their civil service by the Board of Aldermen. You are directly involved in the review of applications submitted to the Town for Re-Zoning, Conditional Use Permits, Development Change in the Historic District, and other exciting opportunities. Each of the Boards meet once a month at 7pm on a designated evening.
